Burgenland

Burgenland has its own style of singing, a closely knot two-part harmony which is used for almost every type of song. Ballads are widespread here.

In dance music small groups of wind instruments have a long tradition.

Burgenland has eastern influences in its music. Croat ethnic groups in Burgenland find a powerful, musical expression of their cultural identity in their singing, playing and dancing Tamburizza groups. Singing and playing by Romanies did not gain the public acceptance it deserved until recently.
